My name is Tyler Sack and I am the group product manager here at Orenda Software Solutions. Joining the team in June, these past six months have been an entirely new experience for me.
I first heard of Orenda when I met Tanya for breakfast in April of this year. She told about a product that would take information from a variety of sources and assign value to how the brand is performing. With these measured impressions, it forms a numerical value similar to a stock market.
With a background in sociology, I immediately thought about how this product would impact human behaviour. It had the potential to improve the social contracts within our society. Individuals, groups, governments could all potentially benefit from this idea. I was in.
Though I joined the team in June, this project has been in motion for the past year and a half. The idea originated while Tanya was working as communications manager on the Sydney Tar Ponds and Coke Ovens remediation project. This was a controversial project that frequented media outlets and social media. She was approached regularly by her boss to see if a story that portrayed the project in a negative light would ‘have legs’- as in it would gain momentum in the media and harm the reputation of the project.
She often had to make these judgement calls within moments, and imagined the existence of a product that would provide them with these answers as they needed them. when the Tar Ponds Project was completed, Tanya opened Pure Project Relations- a public relations firm where she developed Orenda.
The past few months have been full of new developments and opportunities for Orenda. Bob, Ardell and Cory have been working hard to ensure that Orenda is performing optimally. I have been examining the data taken from Orenda and finding how it could beneficial in several different industries. I’ve completed a product development plan and used it to compare Orenda with similar services and determine where the plan to improve Orenda and anticipate the needs of our clients.
We are now three days away from Orenda’s soft launch, and we can’t wait to share Orenda’s story with our friends and the local business community.
